Our goals are to bring back memories to those who have left their motherland in search for freedom and democracy, and at the same time, to educate the younger generations of Vietnamese-American to be culturally aware.
Cultural Village Overview
Cultural Village is created with the purpose of bringing Vietnam’s natural sceneries and historical sites to the people that have not had the chance or could not see them. Aside from the beautiful landscapes, the cultural village will also have traditional entertainment and activities to give people a more realistic “feeling” as if they are in Vietnam.
Our goals are to bring back memories to those who have left their motherland in search for freedom and democracy, and at the same time, to educate the younger generations of Vietnamese-American to be culturally aware. Finally, we want to promote the Vietnamese culture so that it will be widely known in this diverse nation.
The Cultural Village for Tet 2008 will be incorporated throughout the festival with various historical structures representing different regions of Vietnam. For example: there will be the One Pillar Pagoda (Chua Mot Cot) for the north, Hoi An’s Ancient Town (Pho Co Hoi An) for the central region and Ben Thanh’s Market (Cho Ben Thanh) for the south. There will be unique activities, customs, and decorations to represent three different regions.
We are a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization therefore our budget is limited. We also need a lot of help! If you are interested in helping out with the cultural village, would like to make a donation, or have any questions/ concerns, please feel free to contact us anytime.
