Leah Nhi Le: Audio Introduction
Hi, my name is Nhi Le and I’m number 8 in the pageant. I’ve never participated in a pageant before and thought it would be a good opportunity to get out there and serve the Vietnamese community and make new friends. I’m a first year biochemistry and cell biology major and plan on studying internal medicine to become a pediatrician. I believe first and foremost in helping others, particularly the Vietnamese community. I feel that there are very few physicians who are able to connect with the Vietnamese community due to language barriers. I hope to be one of the physicians who are able to break this barrier. One way I have begun giving back to the community is by teaching swim lessons to those of all ages, mostly young children. I love working with children, and my job as a swim instructor inspired me to become a pediatrician. I hope that by participating in this pageant, I will be able to learn more about my culture and become more involved in Vietnamese community service projects.
