Trinh Nguyen: Audio Introduction
Hello Everyone! I am contestant #2, Trinh Thi Thuy Nguyen. I am 23 years old, born and raised here in beautiful San Diego, CA. I am the youngest of six; I enjoy spending time with my close friends and family. I appreciate the people who are a part of my life and who have shaped me into the strong and independent woman I am today. I am a determined individual who has always been motivated to do the best in whatever it is that I am doing. I enjoy learning new things because you can never know enough.
I graduated from SDSU where I received my Bachelors in Business Marketing. I now have pursued my career in Online Marketing and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
The world is a place filled with amazing people, places, and things. As the world revolves at an increasingly fast pace, life sometimes becomes overwhelming and i forget who I am. Being raised in a traditional Vietnamese household but growing up in the American society was sometimes difficult for me. We are pressured to act, talk, and be a certain way. One of the reasons I decided to join this pageant was because I never want to forget some of the Vietnamese traditions and certain aspects of our culture, such as the importance of Tet.
I also wanted to experience something different for myself. My focus has always been school and work and I’ve never really had the time to become involved within the Vietnamese community. I am a firm believer of the phrase “it’s never too late,” therefore; I wanted to take this opportunity to better myself by learning more about my roots and showing appreciation for my heritage.
So as hectic as life gets, don’t ever forget your roots and values, no matter where you are or what you are doing.
