#6. Vân Phạm
Hi everyone! My name is Van Pham and I am contestant number #6! I am currently a student at University of California San Diego, majoring in Economics with a minor in Music. I am originally from Sausalito, California- a beautiful town located across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. I am Vietnamese, French and Indian. A few of my hobbies are playing music, dancing, and volunteering. I’ve played piano since the age of 5 as well as played the flute for 6 years. Music has become my life; I believe it to be an international language and am blessed to have had lessons at a young age. I also worked at a music studio helping teach young children how to play the piano and guitar. In addition, I dance competitively; I was captain of my cheerleading team in high school as well as danced for a competitive hip-hop troupe. Lastly, volunteering is a huge part of who I am. I created a daycare center at a homeless shelter in my hometown and was mentioned in CosmoGirl magazine for my leadership efforts in my community.
I’ve also competed in several pageants, including Miss Teen California, however, I am most excited in competing in Miss Vietnam San Diego, because it allows me to not only represent my culture in a positive light, but also is a way for me to embrace my ethnicity and identity.
