#9. Phượng Tần (Tawnee) Đinh

Hello everyone, my name is Đinh Phượng Tần, which rhetorically means “dancing phoenix” in Vietnamese. At work and among my close friends, I go by the name Tawnee; at home, my family has given me the nickname “Misa”. I was born on September 23, 1988 in Saigon, Vietnam as the oldest and the only girl of 3 siblings. My Chinese zodiac sign is Dragon and my astrological sign is Libra. Raised in the hands of my grandpa, I came to America with my dad in the year of 2000 when I was about to turn 12. Feeling estranged and trying to adapt to the new environment, I attended Montgomery Middle School and Granite Hills High School in El Cajon City. Due to dad’s new employment, my family has moved to Eastside San Diego at the beginning of my junior year and I was transferred to Patrick Henry High in which I graduated with Honors. I then continued my education by attending classes at UCSD and recently graduated with a double degree in Biochemistry and Mathematics/Economics Joint. I currently work for JP Morgan Chase as a personal banker and hoping to pursue some further opportunities in the financial realm. My long term goal, however, is to go back to school and establish a career as a Corporate Attorney.

Aside from working, I enjoy hanging out with friends and doing outdoor activities. I am an advocate shopper and love finding great deals. I also enjoy singing so if you like karaoke, we would be best friends. I love eating and trying out different cuisines. I’ve starting to really appreciate French food and the complexity of their dishes. My favorite movie of all time has to be Titanic, I could literally watch it over and over again, and my tears would never fail me. As a fan of romantic novels, my favorite book is a famous piece by Jane Austen called “Pride and Prejudice”, in which the first time reading it, I finished the entire novel in 13 hours. Last and not least, my motto in life is “I rather regret about something I did do than on something I didn’t do.”

Thank you for reading my biography and please vote for me J.
