#15. Phụng Nguyễn
Hi everyone! My name is Phung Nguyen. I am contestant #15 in the pageant. I’m currently a sophomore at Mesa College and planning to transfer to SDSU for Nursing major. During my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends, volunteering at Sharp Hospital, knitting and cooking. The most important person in my life is my mother because she has sacrificed and undergone many hardships to provide me and my siblings a better future. Just like many other mothers, her greatest joy is making sure her children have a successful life. Joining the pageant not only gives me the opportunity to meet new people, but also gives me the chance to improve my public speaking skills. But most importantly it brings me closer to my Vietnamese heritage. Through this pageant I hope to learn more about the Vietnamese culture and help inform younger generations to continue on to carry out this lovely tradition in our second homeland.
