What is Mr. Vietnam of San Diego?
Mr. Vietnam of San Diego™ is created to promote the Vietnamese-American males as a symbol of dignity and pride within themselves and the Vietnamese culture. A Mr. Vietnam contestant must illustrate a sense of responsibility and involvement in his community.
The pageant also helps establish the Vietnamese culture by upholding the positive image of the contemporary Vietnamese American male and their ability to promote Vietnamese culture in the community. The contestants will answer questions in which the audience gains knowledge of the Vietnamese culture and traditions though the eyes of young Vietnamese American male. They will also get a chance to perform a talent on stage to show the audience their skills. This pageant also serves a purpose to motivate and encourage more young males into becoming role models and leaders in the community.
This is a great opportunity to form new friendships and work with other young leaders and professionals in the San Diego community. In general, this is a non-profit event to uphold the Vietnamese community by promoting the positive image of the Vietnamese-American in San Diego.
Requirements:
Must be at least 1/8th Vietnamese
Must understand Vietnamese Language
Must be between the age of 18-25
The pageant will be held at VAYA’s 5th Annual Lunar New Year Tet Festival.
