MANDATORY VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION 01/07/2012
Attendance is mandatory if you want to volunteer at the TET festival. There will be a short presentation to confirm the dates and times which you signed up to work. You will meet team leaders. If you are under 18, turn in your signed waivers to us at this meeting. IF YOU DO NOT SHOW, YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR SHIFT.

If you answered YES to any those questions, then here is your chance to be a part of the highly anticipated VAYA’s Tet Festival at Balboa Park. Our festival will be filled with people of all ages. If you were at the festival last year, then you have a general idea of how big the festival will be this year and how much fun everyone will have. If you didn’t attend the festival last year, then here is an opportunity for you to come to the festival for FREE (as a volunteer, of course) and help make this upcoming festival even bigger and better!
Who Can Sign Up?
We are looking for friendly, helpful, reliable volunteers to help with this exciting festival. Volunteers 18 and under must fill out the Parental Consent Form.
If you have any special needs, or represent a group or individual with special needs please contact us. Not all volunteer jobs are appropriate for all people.
Volunteer Requirements:
In order for the volunteer committee to communicate with you and schedule volunteers and programs effectively volunteers must:
* Sign up for volunteer shifts of your choice via an on-line form.
* Be able to understand, agree, and follow the policies of the Festival.
* Complete the volunteer assignment in a satisfactory way (showing up on time, staying the duration, wearing volunteer shirt, representing the Festival in an enthusiastic, professional, positive manner.)
* Notify the Volunteer Staff as soon as possible in the case of availability changes.
Note: First come first served limited to 300 volunteers
All volunteers MUST fill this form out in order to volunteer.
Volunteer consent and Release of Liablity form
Team Leader Requirements:
We are seeking Team Leaders to guide, motivate, manage and be responsible for groups of 10 to 15 volunteers. Along with filling out the volunteer application and attaining necessary waivers, to be considered for this distinguished position volunteers must qualify under these guidelines:
Team Leaders must
- have previously volunteered for the sdtet festival
- be at least a high school Junior or in higher grade
- attend a team leader meeting and orientation
- work at least (2) eight hour shifts during the 3 days at sdtet festival
Keep in mind that:
- priority is given to those who have been team leaders in the past
- there are only 30 positions available and they will fill up quickly
